Musical Benefit Support Recovery Program
Return to Sin City: A Tribute to Gram Parsons, a two-show tribute
to the late country-rock performer, will benefit the Musicians Assistance
Program (MAP). MAP funds addiction treatment for members of the
music industry.
Performers at the Los Angeles concerts (July 9 at the Santa Barbara
Bowl and July 10 at the Universal Amphitheatre) will include Keith
Richards, Norah Jones, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, and Dwight
Yoakam.
Parsons died of an overdose in 1973.
Editor's Note: The entertainment industry is acutely aware of the
dangers of alcohol and other drug misuse, and can potentially be
a powerful local ally in raising awareness and funds to support
addiction treatment and prevention. Reach out to local musicians
and other performers in your community and enlist their help!
