Social Justice and Tobacco Control Grants Available
dThe Asian Pacific Partners for Empowerment and Leadership offers
resources for organizations promoting policy change in tobacco control
among Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.
The Social Justice and Tobacco Control Grants fund community organization
and advocacy efforts. The grants address tobacco policy issues that
include countering racially targeted tobacco marketing and promotion;
countering tobacco industry sponsorship; reducing secondhand-smoke
exposure; regulating the locations of retail outlets that sell tobacco
products; advocating for tobacco control and prevention among Asian
Americans and Pacific Islanders; and policy enforcement.
Grants range from $20,000 to $50,000 per year for two years. Nonprofits
throughout the United States and the Pacific are eligible to apply.
Previous experience with tobacco-related work is not required.
